Washington DC

Established in 1790 by the US Constitution, Washington DC is the center of the federal government and is also a major hub of the entire DC metro region. Originally 100 square miles, DC’s reduced footprint of 68 square miles is now home to numerous government organizations, small and large businesses, and charity groups. It also features many vibrant neighborhoods, each with its own unique appeal and amenities. Washington DC has a thriving dining scene with a healthy mix of new and established eateries as well as a wide range of cultural and historic attractions that are great for both locals and visitors alike. DC is also home to many gorgeous parks and green spaces that are fun to visit in most any season. In terms of getting around, DC has a robust public transit system and has made concerted efforts to be bike and pedestrian friendly.
